Fringe Exhibition and WOMADelaide 09
It's festival season in Adelaide and for the first time in 3 years, I'm taking part in both Fringe and WOMADelaide this year.
WOMADelaide 09 If you're coming down to Botanic Park this weekend, be sure to look me up. We'll be listed as 'Henna Craft' in the Craft Market section. In addition to Henna body art, there are some exciting new additions to the Henna Craft line of handmade products this year. I think you'll like them!
Henna: Love, Life & Happiness A Fringe exhibition celebrating the tradition of Henna, while forging new connections with contemporary Western craft practice.
The exhibition brings together 3 artists working in different mediums. My work captures ancient symbols and mandalas with Henna on silk panels and wax vessels. Marie Littlewood has created ceramics inspired by her Henna experience. And Meghan O'Rourke has exotic coloured jewellery inspired by her recent trip to India.
Monday, 9 March 2009. Exhibition continues till 5 April 2009. 6 - 8pm @ Urban Cow 11 Frome St, Adelaide SA map
Come along to enjoy a special night, sharing exotic nibbles and drinks from Pakistan, with music from Bollywood to dance to and experience some Henna body art on the exhibition's Opening Night.
