A THREAD . A WEB . A WORLD

A Thread, A Web, A World

Hi Everyone!

It's been a few months since I contacted you all, as I've been busy working on various events and exhibitions. I'm glad to say that it's now time to share with everyone, the different paths Henna is taking me.

SALA '08
My first photographic exhibition 'A Thread, A Web, A World', a joint collaboration with Mandi Whitten, is showing 'a photographic journey of Henna across cultures.'

They will be followed by entertainment from percussionist Mathew Plummer. So come along and experience the magical touch of Henna!

The exhibition will continue till 22 August 2008. At the closing, I'll be narrating the story of each piece, to take you through the journey... For further information, see: www.athreadawebaworld.com

WATER AID
I recently for the opportunity to help raise funds for this charity. Various artists were asked to paint a ceramic mask using their own unique styles, with the final masks being auctioned off at their annual 'Four Plates With Four Greats' gala dinner.

You can read more about it on my blog: www.diyastudio.com/blog/2008/07/water-aid-mask

OTHER NEWS & GUP SHUP*
One of my Khamsa Series paintings was selected as a finalist in The Advertiser 2008 Contemporary Art Award. Judges selected 20 pieces from over 1,500 submissions, which were then showcased at the their new Adelaide office.

I'm also glad to announce that my Henna Craft is now being stocked by 5 stockists around Adelaide and Melbourne. Henna Craft will also be presented at the annual Loreto Spring Art Show in September. Of course, you can still commission individual pieces directly from my studio, with patterns based on your personality.

Finally, if you are in Adelaide in September, please take a trip down to Jam Factory, where I'll be exhibiting a ceramics exhibition in collaboration with Philip Hart.

It's been a world wind ride these past few months, creating the photographic journey of Henna. I hope you can come along and give me a chance to share my world with you. I'll look forward to seeing you soon!
